Tambora Festival 2017

In April 11, 1815, Mount  Tambora located in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara erupted gigantically. This is the biggest eruption in the world. There were many victims caused by this gigantic eruption. Besides, it changed the world's climate. After a one year eruption, 1816 was becoming "a year without summer" for the climate changing drastically in North America and Europe as the effect of the dust produced by the Tambora's eruption.

To commemorate the Mount Tambora's eruption, West Nusa Tenggara Province government will be holding a festival known as " Festival Pesona Tambora".  After successfully conducting an opening event in 2016 named "Tambora Menyapa Dunia" Dompu's government makes Festival Pesona Tambora as an annual event of Dompu Tourism office which is aimed to attract tourists' interest.
