Wr. Wb
Welcome
to the holy month muslimin on the world entirely. Life is full of love, right?
Do you need a proof? Here we are in the first day of ramadhan mubarak for the rahmat and hidayah given by ALLAH, our
Lord, the creator, the giver, the most merciful, and the forgiver.
Alhamdulillaahhirabbil’alamiin.. All praise is
to Allah then blessing and salutation upon our last prophet Muhammad SAW (peace
be upon him) who kindly and patiently carried out us from the darkness to the brightness.
Radii tubillaahirabba, wabil-Islaamidiina,
wa bi Muhammadin sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam nabiyya.
Ramadhan
is the holiest and extremely special among the other eleven months where the
muslims must do fasting from morning (fajr) to the evening with several requirements
and rules. This is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar which always be
welcomed with happiness, smile, and spirit to the sake of ALLAH SWT by mukminin
on the globe. In order to get ready to fast, there is an injunction to take suhoor.
It is done before dawn and fast-breaking is done when maghrib’s adzan. Actually, suhoor
has numerous benefits and great blessings that’s why moslems should take it. It
was narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim: “there is a blessing in it”. In this blessed month, all good deeds would be rewarded times over. For the moslems who are mindful of its magnificiency, they would not wanna lose this opportunity to become closer to Allah SWT. Moslems' Lord, the one and only, Allaahu Akbar. Ahadun ahad.
Fasting
must be done with a keenness and a sincerity to get ALLAH SWT’s blessings. We cannot
do it because of forcefullness. If we do it loathly, we will only get hunger
and thirstiness then we lose the virtues and the benefits of it. “Innamal
a’maalu illa binniyaat”. So do it correctly by purifying our heart, increasing our iman, forgiving others' fault, repenting to Allah for the all sins. Allah loves those
who turn to Allah, He loves the sinners who repent sincerely, and his blessing
is greater than his anger.
This
is a glance of ramadhan:
1.
The
law of fasting in ramadhan
Fasting in ramadhan is an obligation in Islam. This means
that you must fast and prioritize it as the most important thing to do. There is
no other choice except fasting because this is not an option, but this is the
command of Allah as the greatest one as an obligation.
2.
Who
are obligated to fast?
Every moslem is obligated to fast in this holy
month. It is without acceptance of persons. It is a must for poor and rich,
dark and white, thin and fat, ugly and beautiful moslems. There is no reason to
leave and break it as long as they fulfill all the requirements to fast.
3.
Those
who are exempt from fasting
·
Mentally challenged people (those are
not required to fast during ramadhan)
·
Children (those who have not undergone
puberty)
·
Women (those who are in their monthly cycles,
but they must pay for the missed days afterwards in the other months)
·
Travelers (those who have to travel far and pass trough difficult journey, then they are
not required to fast)
·
Sickness (if those are sick then they
force to fast then their health gets worsen, it is not obligated)
·
Very old age people
·
Pregnant and breastfeeding women
4.
The
pillar of fasting
This is the fourth pillar in Islam: (1) Syahadat
(Asyhaduanlaa ilaahaillallah wa asyhadu anna muhammadarrasulullah), testifying that there is no true god except ALLAH and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger (2) performing shalah (prayer), (3) paying zakah, (4) shaum (fasting) during ramadhan, and (5) performing hajj (pilgrimage) to the house of Allah, Ka'bah. Pillar or rukun
means must. If a moslem does not fast because of an invalid reason, she/he would be sinned.
This influences our spirituality, emotion, personality, and social
life due to we would feel hungry, try to control ourselves, be patient to the
all trials, and many others. It trains us to be stronger and be wiser since we feel what our moslem friends' condition when having nothing to eat. There are many deep lessons
that can be gotten from fasting for those who can comprehend them. Ramadhan is a shar qur’an, shar shiam, shar
rahmah, shar tilawah, shar maghfirah, and dzihbun minannar (brings you away
from the hell fire).
5.
The
things that can break your fasting
·
Eating, drinking and smoking consciously
·
Menstruation (haid) and nifas
·
Vomitting consiously
·
Having sexual intercourse
6.
The
things that decreases your merit
·
Fibbing
·
Gossipping
·
Backbiting
·
Rafats (talking lewdly and wildly on the
subject of sex intercourse)
·
Laghwu (useless speech)
·
Geting to loggerheads
·
Hasad (envy)
Do
not sleep too much, don’t buy food too much when fast-breaking if we could not
eat them all, and don’t be lebay” said Mamah Dedeh on her TV program that I heard this morning. hehe Everything that too much is not good, live our life simply as long as it is fulfilled by blessing. Then the best way to feel the blessing is by being grateful.
La
