"Do not walk on
this earth arrogantly because you will not impenetrate the earth and walk as high as the mountain" being(Tawadu).
What is arrogant?
self-opinionated, pretending ourselves as the perfect one rather than others, etc. It is an action
of refusing the truth and cutting another down to size.
Arrogant people will not live in the heaven. So, what about the people
who like wearing nice clothes, shoes, skirts, veils, and using luxurious cars,
living in a good house, etc? "Innallaha Jamilun Wa Yuhibbul Jamaal"
Allah SWT loves beauty. Just wearing and using them as long as in a good way
and keenness :)
When we talk to others, do not turn our face from them because it is one of the
characteristics of arrogance. Our prophet Muhammad SAW never did it
because he respected someone else so much , whereas he is a prophet who has been guaranteed to live in the heaven by Allah SWT.
There are some factors that cause arrogance:
1. An arrogance because of knowledge.
Considering ourselves as the
smartest, proper to get everything whereas we do not have to be arrogant because
Allah has stated in Qur'an :
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا فِي
الْمَجَالِسِ فَافْسَحُوا يَفْسَحِ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا قِيلَ انْشُزُوا
فَانْشُزُوا يَرْفَعِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا
الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
"O ye
who believe. When you say," Give spaciousness in the assemblies "then
Exert, Allah will give you the spaciousness. And when it is said," Stand
ye, "a stand, Allah will appoint (degrees) those who believe among you and
those who were given knowledge some degree. Allah knows what you do,
"(Surah al-Mujadalah [58]: 11)
So, we do not have to worry about that :)
2. An arrogance because of learning in order to be talk-active. That is not good. Whereas the
more you have knowledge the more you be a humble person like paddy.
3. An arrogance because of charity.
Judging others as the inhabitants of the hell and thinking that ourselves as the best and will enter
the heaven whereas no one knows about that.
4. An arrogance because of lineage (nasab).
Feeling perfect because of highborn.
5. An arrogance because of beauty and handsomeness .
Mentioning and counting others' weaknesses specifically about physical appearance.
6. An arrogance because of wealth.
Contemn others, fakir and so on. We do not have to do that because no one able to go one better the richest of our prophet Sulaiman AS.
Do not feel inferior because of having flat nose, dark skin, fat, etc because
Allah has many purposes actually. Without Allah we are nothing so do not pompous and be arrogant. One more, when we listen to people's talk just focus on what the lesson is, not focus on who the speaker is because the truth can come from anyone, anywhere, anytime.
So, what should we do in order to look up ourselves? Just look up ourselves as Allah looks up us ^_^
